This Ironmongers is a real jewel in the crown of Bedford's shops.  You can get everything here.  You can get your keys cut.  You can buy:

• Lamp bulbs of all shapes and sizes
• Electric fuses. 
• Gardening tools such as shears and suchlike - and very good quality too
• Models (They get very sniffy if you call them toys, but I purchased a wonderful model aeroplane for my nine year old neice)
• All shapes and sizes of clothes horses and drying tools for washing

Indeed, rather than list all the things that Goldings do sell, I think I would rather issue the following challenge: e-mail me on richardgillard322@btinternet.com telling me of anything Goldings could not provide you with and I will list that instead.  It will probably be a much shorter list that way.

The staff in Goldings are very helpful too.  I remember I once accidentally trod on and broke, my friend Teresa's garden ornament, a large metal ant.  I was having a lot of trouble soldering it back together.  I took it into Goldings and the gentleman behind the counter said: "I don't think I'd have much trouble with it Sir."  I said: "I'll give you a tenner if you can fix it!" and he said: "You're on".  He actually welded it back together for me.  Several days later I was able to present the lovely Teresa with a nicely repaired giant ant, looking as good as new.  It has been sitting happily in her garden ever since.
